Events In Inverness 2013
There are a number of popular events which take place in and around Inverness with many drawing huge numbers of visitors to the area every year. Some of the most popular include the Loch Ness Marathon which is now rated in the top 10 best marathons in the world, the Inverness Highland Games, Rock Ness and the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Golf Championship.
Events 2013
7 – 9 June 2013: Rock Ness Concert at Dores Inverness. Music festival on the shores of Loch Ness.
11 – 14 July 2013 - Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Golf Championship 2013 will be held at Castle Stuart Golf Links.
20 July 2013: Inverness Highland Games in Northern Meeting Park is a popular event for locals and tourists alike and is renowned for being the best of the Highland games.
1 August 2013: Black Isle Show at Mannsfield Showground, Muir of Ord is the biggest agricultural show in the North of Scotland and is hugely popular. Book accommodation early.
2 & 3 August 2013: Highland Field Sports Fair at Moy Hall The fair at Moy Village offers entertainment and activity for old and young. Largely field sports activities but also competitions with fly casting, gun dog handling and clay pigeon shooting.
2 & 3 August 2013: Belladrum – Tartan Heart Festival on the Belladrum Estate near Beauly. The event is an outdoor music festival for all the family with rock, country, blues and world music.
24 August 2013: Glenurquhart Highland Games at Blairbeg Park, Drumnadrochit, Loch Ness another popular games.
4 – 8 September 2013: Nairn Book & Arts Festival. Nairn’s celebration of literature, drama, art, film and music beside the Moray Firth.
6 – 14 September 2013: Blas Music Festival. Check out the website to see venue and performers.
29 September 2013: Loch Ness Marathon plus 5K and 10K River Ness fun runs. The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon takes place along the shores of Loch Ness. Book accommodation early as everywhere gets booked up quickly.
25 & 26 October 2013: Halloween Show Ness Islands. The biggest Halloween Party in the Highlands and a great event for all the family.
5 November 2013: Civic Bonfire And Fireworks Display. The Highland’s biggest bonfire with a 20 minutes fireworks display and free admission.
6 – 10 November 2013: Inverness Film Festival Eden Court. Check out the Eden Court Theatre website for full details and ticket prices.
17 November 2013: Christmas Lights Switch On. Christmas Carols and Traditional Scottish music from 5.30pm against the backdrop of a spectacular projection show which brings the Town House to life with animations just in time for the arrival of Santa Claus.
13 – 15 December 2013: Rudolph’s Winter Wonderland. Rudolph and his Reindeer friends bring a touch of Christmas magic to the Highland Capital.
31 December 2013: The Red Hot Highland Fling. See in 2014 at The Northern Meeting Park with a spectacular concert featuring various artists.
